THE SITE'S CHRONICLE

wow4ever changelog

What we have added and fixed on the site, newest first.

    • New launch day page: the exact time WoW Forever goes live in Spain, Latin America, London, the United States and Sydney, and in your own time zone; the countdown, a checklist of what to sort out before the day and the launch day questions, clearly flagging what Blizzard has not announced yet.

      Launch day

    • The home page now follows the calendar: before the beta it points you to the guide on getting in, during name reservation to the name generator and, after launch, to everything new. The countdown always targets the next milestone and you can add it to your calendar. We also launched this changelog, and every page and article now shows when we last reviewed it.

      Roadmap

    • On the English pages, every source now shows the original headline of the article it cites. The races page also reads better on phones: the race and class table shows it can be scrolled and the racials are grouped by race.

      Races

    • Official Spanish names: talents, trees and racials on the Spanish site now use the game's own translations. Terms that only exist in Forever stay marked as provisional until the beta client is out.

      Talent calculator

    • Classic versus Forever across the hub: every class, race, zone, dungeon and raid opens with a table of what it was in Classic and what it is now, and the calculator marks which talents are new, which replace another and which change. New professions and camping page. We removed the background music and made button and card corners consistent.

      ProfessionsPaladin

    • The talent calculator gets its own page with all nine classes. New «Sources and methodology» page showing how much of the game is confirmed; the roadmap lets you add each phase to your calendar, and the races page gathers every racial in one table.

      Sources

    • Name generator: Forever asks for a first and a last name, so you can roll an epic one for your race or a funny one, see how it looks above your character's head and check the naming rules. We also double-checked every dungeon's level range.

      Names

    • Three long reads: the complete guide to everything new in WoW Forever, the FAQ and how to get into the beta. Long articles now have a table of contents, and game pages link to the articles that mention them. «Explore Forever» now sits right below the home page hero.

Everything new in WoW ForeverBeta: how to get in

    • Better for search engines and social media: every page links to its twin in the other language, has its own image when you share the link, and the tab shows the wow4ever icon. Articles gained reading time, a progress bar and related articles at the end.

      Articles

    • A talent calculator on every class page, with all 51 points, requirements and builds you can share with a link; official icons for classes, talents and racials; zoomable images, and a before/after slider comparing Classic and the new graphics in six revamped zones. The hero now plays Forever's animated key art and each class has its own illustration.

      AshenvaleClasses

    • The game hub arrives: classes, races, zones, dungeons and raids with their sources and what is confirmed; Blizzard's official roadmap replaces the timeline, and we published our first articles. New drop-down menu.

      Roadmap

    • wow4ever opens: a fan site about WoW Forever in English and Spanish, with news from Blizzard and the press, community videos and clips, and the countdown to launch.
