WoW Forever server status: queues and login errors

Can't log in? Where to check if WoW Forever is down, what to do in the queue, what each login error means and how to fix it, with the steps from Blizzard Support. For the October 27 name reservation and the November 4 launch.

Is WoW Forever down?

We don't monitor the servers ourselves: Blizzard publishes no Forever API. If you can't get in, check these official channels first; if they report a wider issue, all you can do is wait.

When to watch

  1. 27 October at 17:00Character creation and name reservation open (Europe, 18:00 CET)
  2. 27 October at 20:00Name reservation opens in the Americas (1:00 p.m. PDT)
  3. 4 November at 23:00WoW Forever launches (3:00 p.m. PST)

Times in UTC. This is when the most people try to log in at once.

The login queue

At peak times, Battle.net puts you in a login queue. Typical messages are "Login servers are full", "It's a busy day for Battle.net Services!" or "You're almost there!".

The queue does not save your place: if you leave or get kicked, you go back to the end. Stay in it until it finishes, without closing or restarting the game.

To avoid sitting through it twice: type your account and password correctly, enter your authenticator code quickly and accept any terms of use right away.

Blizzard has not said how many players fit on November 4 or whether there will be queues. During the beta, players reported long queues on the first days.

Login errors and how to fix them

«You have been disconnected from the server»

Your game lost its connection to the World of Warcraft servers.

  1. Check @BlizzardCS for a wider outage.
  2. If there is none, follow the connection steps in Blizzard's technical guide: restart your router and close anything using the network.
  3. As a last resort, try enabling IPv6 (Game Menu › Options › Network); if it gets worse, turn it off.
  4. If it happens during an item restoration, that's normal: just log back in.

World server is down

One character won't log in while the others can, or none can because of a wider issue.

  1. If it happens on every character, check realm status and @BlizzardCS.
  2. If it's only one character, Blizzard suggests moving it with its self-service tool and, if that fails, resetting your UI.

Before the day: to get in smoothly

  1. Install WoW Forever ahead of time: in Battle.net, pick World of Warcraft: Forever from the Game Version menu. You can download it from October 27.
  2. Update your graphics drivers (Blizzard recommends it) and Windows: Forever needs Windows 10 or later.
  3. Have your authenticator and Battle.net password at hand: there's no time to recover them while queued.
  4. Go in with few, up-to-date addons. If something breaks, disable them first.
  5. Have your ruleset, race, class and two or three names ready. It's all in "Your first day".
