The 14 honor ranks
Every patch cycle brings an honor track with 14 ranks. Honor comes from battlegrounds and PvP content, and each rank unlocks something: faction items, elite gear upgrades, mounts and, at the end, the weapon arsenal.

Battlegrounds
Classic's three stay, and the Darkspear Islands arrive with their own reputation. Blizzard spoke of new battlegrounds in the plural, so there may be more than one.
