Lore

After its destruction in Warcraft III, the Kirin Tor rebuilt Dalaran beneath a magical barrier in the Alterac Mountains, years before it became a flying city. In Forever the barrier is down: backfiring enchantments, haywire arcane constructs, rampant demonic energy and cats everywhere. Blizzard will show the city “in all of its freshly rebuilt glory” and may explore why the barrier is gone.

What we know

  • “This isn't just a dungeon”: there is a whole city to explore, with magical artifacts for those who help (press).
  • Since ragtag adventurers helping the Kirin Tor “would not go over well”, the team will “find some roundabout way” to get you in (press).
  • Footage showed pine forest outside the walls, purple domed rooftops, a plaza with crates and floating crystals and a candlelit library (press).
  • With the new draw distance, you can see Dalaran's towers from the Wetlands looking toward Alterac (press).
