How it is worked out
In each slot, among the items your class can wear at that level (armor type, weapons, the item’s “Classes:” line and required level), the one that adds up the most points with your role's weights wins. Weapons also add their damage per second.
The weights are below: one point of a stat is worth its number. It is a simple rule you can see, not a simulator: use it to compare pieces, not as absolute truth.
Honest limits: the database does not say where each item comes from (boss, quest or recipe) or whether it is Alliance or Horde, and around 1,600 new items are still encrypted in the client until they show up in game.
