An endgame leveling zone in Kalimdor, finally reachable through Darkwhisper Gorge: Hyjal is recovering after Archimonde's defeat.

Lore

Blizzard calls it “Mount Hyjal, Renewed” and “Aftermath of Victory”: after the Battle for Mount Hyjal its forests are healing from corruption while old and new dangers seek to claim its power. The panel asked how the battle affected the wild gods and what dangers remain, and players will meet emerging factions and forge alliances. In the team's words, it is one of Warcraft's most important locations “during a period of history that we've never really experienced before”.

What we know

  • New stories, rewards and reputations, with solo and group content.
  • Home to the Hyjal Summit raid and one of the three entrances to the Barrow Deeps.
  • Panel slides showed a skeletal figure wrapped in blue, a pine forest path, a stag in a clearing, a stone temple among the trees and a green-lit cavern (press).
  • The official fact sheet says remnants of the recent battle against Archimonde can still be seen there.
