How it would look above your character: Noah Mana
Name language
Surnames and funny names in English, as in the English client.
With no class chosen, every name on the wall can come up.
Rules
- ✓2 to 12 letters
- ✓Letters only, no numbers or spaces
- ✓No three identical letters in a row
These are the game's rules (the same as the name reservation): each part separately, and the full name has to be free in your region.
Name reservation kit
Early name reservation runs from October 27 to November 3, 2026 with the WoW Forever upgrades that include it, and it’s first come, first served. What to have ready:
- Save three or four combinations in “My names”, right above: if the first one is taken, you’re not improvising.
- What has to be unique is the full name within your region: the first name can repeat if the surname is different.
- The system checks both names together: splitting a restricted word across first and last name won’t make it valid.
- A family or a guild? Sharing a surname is allowed (Blizzard’s example is three “Brightvale”s), as long as each combination is different.
- If you’d rather show only your first name, in game: Escape > Options > Nameplates and tick “My Secondary Name”. Chat still shows the full name.

How names work in Forever
When you create a character, Forever asks for two names: a main name and a last name. Both are required, but you can choose in the settings whether the last name is shown.
With no more realms, what has to be unique is the full combination in your region: there can be plenty of Annas, but only one Anna Forever. The September 17 Q&A sharpened it: the full name can't be reused across rulesets either.
Early name reservation runs from October 27 to November 3, ahead of the November 4 launch. More in No realms: rulesets and last names.
One warning: Blizzard can force a rename for offensive names or names referring to real people.
